Privacy Policy

Cuey ("Cuey", "we") is software for playing slides, videos and music at live events. It is operated by Avi Berger Productions, Israel. This policy explains, in plain words, what we collect, why, and what your rights are.
In short
- Your files stay with you. Videos, pictures, music and shows live on your computer. We don't upload them to our server.
- An account is just an email. To sign in we need an email address, nothing more.
- No ads, and we don't sell data.
- AI Builder sends the programme you choose to an AI service to build slides from it. We don't keep the programme.
1. What stays on your computer only
- Shows and files: your cue list, media files, settings and recent shows. They are kept on your computer, in a .cuey file or in the browser's or app's local storage, and are not sent to us.
- Local browser storage: language, volume, sign-in state and small preferences. We use it only to make the app work, not to track you.
2. Your account
- What we keep: when you sign in, we keep your email address, a user ID, sign-in times, and whether you have Studio or Pro.
- Your sign-in code: sent to your email. There are no passwords.
- Why we need it: to recognise you, unlock what you bought, and send service messages such as your sign-in code.
3. AI Builder
- What is sent: when you press Build, the programme text, and its picture if you uploaded one, are sent to our server. From there they go to Anthropic's Claude, which builds the running order of slides.
- What we keep: only a usage record, without the content itself: when you built, how many characters, how many cues were made, and whether it succeeded. We use it for the daily limit.
- At Anthropic: the content is handled under Anthropic's terms and policies for its API. Don't put sensitive information in a programme you don't want to send.

Some of these services run on servers outside Israel, for example in the US or the EU.
5. Analytics and cookies
- Tracking cookies and pixels: we don't use them.
- Analytics in the future: if we turn on usage statistics, they will be anonymous and cookie-free, through GoatCounter, and you will be able to switch them off.
6. Emails
- Service emails: always sent when needed, such as your sign-in code or a message about your purchase.
- Marketing emails: only if you clearly agreed to them. Every one will have an unsubscribe link.
7. Payments
When we turn on payments, they will be handled by an outside payment provider. We never see or store your card details. We only receive confirmation that the purchase went through.
8. How long we keep things
- Account details: while your account is active, or until you ask us to delete them.
- AI Builder usage records: up to 12 months.
- Pixabay search results: up to 24 hours.
9. Your rights
You can ask to see your data, correct it, or delete your account. Write to privacy@cuey.live and we'll handle it within 30 days. If you are in the EU, you also have your rights under the GDPR.
10. Children
Cuey is made for people who organise and run events. It is not meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
11. Security
- How we protect it: we use encrypted connections, limited access permissions and established providers.
- What isn't perfect yet: no method is perfect. Cuey is in beta and we keep improving it.
12. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date here. We'll tell you about any important change in the app or by email.
